Good morning, Lord

Matthew 9:9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow me," he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. 10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?" 12 On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Good morning, Lord, please help us to be merciful, please help us see others as you see them, please help us recognize our sickness, our weakness, please help us see the hardness of our hearts and the planks in our own eyes.

Lord, we pray for the persecuted church in Kuwait (where “…evangelism to Kuwaitis is forbidden.”) Lord, how beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, how vain the efforts of the government of Kuwait to try and stop you and your spirit when you move in the lives of your creation, we pray for an event like the day of Pentecost, a day your spirit is poured out in torrential quantities in Kuwait. We pray for the lost in Kuwait who desire to stamp out Christ, may their eyes be opened and may they be struck like Saul on the road to Damascus, so that they might say, “Who are you, Lord?”

We pray for the unreached people of the day, the Beja, Bedawi of Sudan, (“a group of nomadic shepherds who live scattered across the desert regions of Sudan, Egypt, and Eritrea. The Beja are an important people group and represent the largest non-Arabic ethnic group between the Nile River and the Red Sea. They are an aggressive people with small, strong, wiry frames; long noses; and oval faces. The Beja are the descendants of Noah's grandson, Cush (son of Ham). They are a native African people who have occupied their current homelands for more than 4,000 years. During that time, they adopted their Islamic religion. The Beja in Sudan are divided into four tribes: the Hadendowa, the Amarar, the Ababda, and the Beni Amer. They inhabit over 110,000 square miles (284,800 square km) in eastern Sudan. Their native language is called Bedawiya, although many are also fluent in Arabic or Tigre.”) We pray salvation would come to this people group, we pray all 2,295,000 of the would be able to hear of your love and salvation and be able to choose to follow you.

We pray for Levi, Betsy, Laila, John, and Nancy, we pray the time they have together is a sweet, sweet season of fellowship, bonding, and growing in grace and truth.
