2 Timothy 1:8-10
So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life–not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
Good morning, Lord, how true it is that Your gospel is a suffering gospel, and many will pay a very high price in this life for the gospel. Thank You for the power of God, which miraculously enables men and women to endure the hardships that will come if we live godly lives (In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted...3:12).
Thank You for Your purposes and grace, thank you for saving us and calling us to this new life. As we seek opportunities to share Your love, please help us prepare for the trouble that will follow, please help us not be ashamed, we pray in Your name, Jesus, amen.
