50 Commandments of Jesus
33. Honor Marriage—Matthew 19:6
So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.
Good morning, Lord, what a marvelous miraculous mystery, two beings, fearfully and wonderfully made, becoming one, for Your purposes, so they can "live better for You than either one would do alone,"
Please help us always honor this sacred institution, to defend marriage against the forces eroding it in our society, to help each other honor the commitments of our marriages.
We pray for any marriages that we know of that are struggling, we pray for deliverance from the one who would destroy these sacred bonds, we pray for hope and love for those who feel these ingredients are gone from their marriage, please give them a vision for what You, and only You can do for their marriage if they will recommit and turn the keys back over to You. Amen, Jesus, amen.

HELPS Word-studies: rσυνέζευξεν (synezeuxen) joined together
4801 syzeúgnymi (from 4862 /sýn, "identified with" and 2201 /zeúgos, "yoke") – properly, jointly-yoked; yoked (paired) together, when God joins two people together for one purpose (Mt 19:6; Mk 10:9).
4801 /syzeúgnymi ("closely-yoked") is only used for marriage in the NT – a union in which a husband and wife live better for the Lord together, than either would do alone.
