Matthew 23:1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. 3 So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. 5 "Everything they do is done for men to see…”
Good morning, Lord, please help us never do anything for show, please help us be real, genuine, sincere, please forgive us for our many failures at not practicing what we preach, please help us to honor you with our lives, to take up our cross, to die daily to ourselves.
Lord, we pray for the persecuted church in Bhutan (“one of the most restricted nations in the world for Christians. All public worship and evangelism by non-Buddhists is illegal. Churches are never permitted to evangelize. Christian family members can meet together, but they cannot meet with other Christian families.”) We pray for the tiny fraction of Bhutan citizens that believe, we pray their faith would be encouraged and sustained, we pray they would be able to overcome the obstacles their government places in front of them, we know these forces of darkness are no match for you.
We pray for the unreached people of the day, the Nara, Nialetic of Eritrea, 95,000 souls who dwell in eastern Africa, among whom about 2.5% are Christians. Lord, we pray for the people of Eritrea, especially the Nara, we pray for a Bible in their language, we pray you would enable them to share your love in new and fresh ways with their Islamic neighbors.
