50 Commandments of Jesus
22. Be Wise as Serpents—Matthew 10:16
I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
Good morning, Lord, please forgive us for not behaving as sheep when the challenges of life come, we snarl like dogs at those who trouble us, we murmur and complain about the speck in their eye. When troubles come we do so many things You never told us to do, You knew trouble would come, and You knew love would change the hearts and lives of many who watch us much more closely than we realize. You told us how to respond, like You did, "like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before her shearers is silent." Please help us respond with the supernatural responses required to obey You and soften hearts, our hearts and theirs, we pray in Jesus' name, amen.

Matthew 7:3-5
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Acts 8:32-33
The eunuch was reading this passage of Scripture:
“He was led like a sheep to the slaughter,
and as a lamb before the shearer is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
In his humiliation he was deprived of justice.
Who can speak of his descendants?
For his life was taken from the earth.”
