7. Do Not Commit Adultery—Matthew 5:29–30

Matthew 5:27-30

Adultery

 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery. ’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

Good morning, Lord, You gave us wonderous, amazing faculties in our hands and eyes, please purify our hearts, cleanse us and make us whiter than snow, so we would not lust, not be adulterous and wicked. Please help us use our hands and eyes and all our senses for honoring You and ministering to others, in Your name, for Your glory and their edification and salvation, we pray in Jesus name, amen.

2 Corinthians 7:1

Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

Psalm 51:7, 10

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;

wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
