41. Await My Return—Matthew 24:42–44

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this:If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Good morning, Lord, please help us be ready, please help us prepare, please help us warn others. You are coming back, and so many won't be ready, many who have never even heard the Good News, we can't afford to not be ready, please help us, we plead in Jesus name, amen.

There are at least 7,200,000,000 people on the planet. Worldwide there are 8.20 deaths per year per 1000 people, some countries have lower death rates, some higher. This number means 59 million people will die this year, or over 160,000 will die today. 

At least 1.5 billion have never even heard the Gospel, so many are hostile to it, many more are apathetic, so many follow other faiths or philosophies. Only a small minority of those people who die today will be ready to meet the Son of Man, I'm not going to speculate on a number, but if it's anything more than 0, that has got to hurt God's heart. 

This is a sobering, heartbreaking reality. When we sing "break my heart for what breaks Yours," I have to thank God that we can't feel the pain He feels when so many perish daily, and continually. But we can do something about it today, there is Good News, and it's our privilege and right and God ordained responsibility to share it. God forgive us for keeping it inside us, may He set our tongues on fire and revive and ignite us!
