Good morning, Lord, please help us understand blessed mourning, surely there are many things we mourn about which don't bring Your blessings: external losses, worldly sorrow, all those things which hurt but can be categorized as manifestions of our pride and lust and greed. Teach us to mourn, not for the ungodly pains in this life, but for the godly pains, for the consequences we must live with from past sins, for the lost opportunities to share Your hope with the hopeless, for the thousands and thousands who will die today around the world that don't know Christ, for the unborn that will die today, for the hundreds of those who's love for You will cost them their lives today. Thankfully we can't feel all the pain You feel, it would surely crush us, but please deliver us from feeling nothing. Please deliver us from our numbness, from our blind eyes, and deaf ears, that have shut out and tuned out the cries of the hurting who are all around us. We are a valley of dry bones, only You can bring us back to life, to the life You desire us to live, a life of godly mission and power and purpose, of bearing much of the fruits of the Spirit, please help us mourn as we should, and pray as we should, and live as we should, so we can honor You and bring You glory, in Jesus' name we pray, amen.
